An immunologist is a specialist who treats abnormalities of the immune system. These abnormalities end up causing allergies, for example food or drug allergy; immune deficiency syndromes; and autoimmune diseases. Immunologists help to diagnose and then advise on the treatment of these common but difficult to manage problems.
